Our Lancashire Volunteer DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) scheme

Our Lancashire is the Lancashire-wide Social Action network to bring groups and communities together to make Lancashire a greater place to live, work and play. We are pleased to announce we are expanding our current DBS scheme, eligible groups and organisations can now apply for DBS checks for up to 15 volunteers.

Our Lancashire is working in partnership with Burnley Pendle and Rossendale Council for Voluntary Services (BPRVS) to deliver Free DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) checks for volunteers that support voluntary organisations working with vulnerable groups/people across Lancashire.

Voluntary Groups and organisations that sign up and post their Group on to the Our Lancashire website will be eligible for up to 15 free DBS checks for their volunteers (not paid staff) if their turnover is under £150,000 and they qualify for a DBS check.

BPRCVS will provide this service across pan-Lancashire.

This initiative will ensure we continue to safeguard the most vulnerable people in our communities.
