The PROSPECTS Foundation

The PROSPECTS Foundation is an environmental charity covering the borough of Hyndburn. We are based in Accrington town centre but also work in the townships of Baxenden, Church, Clayton-le-Moors, Great Harwood, Huncoat, Oswaldtwistle and Rishton. We carry out projects with the local community which improve habitats for wildlife, conserve the natural environment and enhance the quality of life for those involved.

What we do:

We carry out a range of environmental activities across the whole of Hyndburn. Regular volunteer conservation activities take place on a Monday and Tuesday usually working in a woodland setting and on two Wednesdays a month we work in partnership with the Canal and Rivers Trust improving the towpath and environment alongside the canal. We carry out lots of other activities too including organic food growing, the management and improvement of green spaces, lead walking and cycling programmes and much more. We also raise awareness of local and global environmental issues such as climate change and the use of plastics. We also work with schools and community groups to help them develop their own ideas to improve their local environment.

Activities:

All our activities are shown on the 'What's On' page of our website with details of how to get involved and how to find out more information. You can also sign up to receive our newsletter to be kept up to date of all our events.
