The 180 Project

Our vision is to create a lasting recovery … breaking the vicious cycle of addiction, crime and prison. We disrupt these cycles so people can live a happy and fulfilling life. When people decide it’s time to change and seek to find their way in life, they can be at their most vulnerable. There is still significant stigma and discrimination that can prevent people from asking for help. We want to change this.

What we do:

The 180 Project helps adults [18+], who are in early recovery from addiction, to become the best version of themselves. Our programme uses functional fitness to bring people together, offering a new lifestyle and providing purpose which all starts in a gym environment, not a clinical or traditional service setting. Why 180? • We offer a safe and accepting community • We rebuild health and create respect for the body, mind and spirit • We build dedication and perseverance and learn how to apply this to everyday challenges • We see new friendships, new hobbies, new jobs, new opportunities opening up • We ditch life limiting labels; Hopeless. Addict. Alcoholic. We create a new identity; Strong. Determined. Athlete!

We use sport, an adapted physical programme combined with nutrition education, mentoring and life coaching to achieve total wellness so participants are physically, emotionally and mentally well and socially connected.
