Preston Volunteer Police Cadets
Preston Volunteer Police Cadets engage young people in activities that support the local community and aims to provide life skills that will enable young people to lead happy and fulfilled lives.
We deliver a Programme for Cadets, aged between 13 and 18 years, life skills, police and public service related content, physical activities, Princes Trust and communication skills are all included along with outside events and projects that add value and support local people.
What we do:We uphold the core values of the Lancashire Volunteer Police Cadets; • Delivered in the Community across Lancashire • Inclusive of Vulnerable Young People and Representative of Local Communities • Free to join and participate • Visible and Unformed • Offers an introduction to policing and other public services • Focuses on social action and doing good in the local community • Offers cadets an award scheme that promotes life skills and social action • provides cadets with a safe environment and opportunity to engage in physical activities • Encourages Youth Voice and involves cadets in programme management & decision making • Promotes lifelong volunteering opportunities
Activities:In Partnership with the Princes Trust we promote life skills and provide information about policing and public services. We promote activities outside that add value to people such as protecting the environment or supporting local charities.
