Preston Muslim Forum
PMF operates an accessible drop-in centre located in the heart of the community. The centre is open five days a week from 9.30 am to 4.00 pm. Our services are wide and span a range of activities free at the point of access to anyone who needs help and has nowhere to turn. Suitably qualified staff and volunteers deliver services in a culturally sensitive and bi-lingual environment.
What we do:• Provide one to one information, advice and guidance including practical support to clients who have nowhere to turn • Develop employability and life skills of people facing disadvantage, through targeted employment, lifelong learning support and volunteering opportunities • Engage with young people to help with their personal, social and physical development. • Support older people to promote their wellbeing and independence • Work in partnership with others organisations to achieve common goals including developing potential of other community groups through provision of capacity building support. • Foster understanding and co-operation between communities through multi-faith and community cohesion events.
Activities:• Advice and guidance on a wide range of issues • Basic English, IT, ESOL, arts and crafts courses • Coffee mornings, luncheon clubs, health workshops, • Employment Support • Youth Club, mother & toddler group • Volunteering opportunities
