Pennine Lancashire Community Farm

Pennine Lancashire Communtiy Farm uses the medium of outdoor space to bring people together. Its central aims are to promote social inclusion, sustainability (of a community) and education. It works across Burnley / Pendle in highly urban areas of high deprivation (registered in the bottom 1% in the 2015 indices of deprivation) across a number of community garden sites, forestry areas and farms.

What we do:

Pennine Lancashire Community Farm delivers five key programs across community growing sites, animal based farm sites and a number of nature reserves / forest sites: • The “Chilli Club“ providing mini growing beds • "Growing to employment" support people into employment and or long term volunteering • "Get Grubby Out of School" providing outdoor activities during holiday periods • "Growing Minds" providing outdoor education sessions for schools and colleges • "Community Engagement Program" providing corporate events, specific group outdoor activities according to need • "Fresh Food Initiative" providing fresh produce to those in need

Activities:

Activities include: • Planting and cultivating food • Creating and maintaining community outdoor spaces. • Learning about and engaging in Animal husbandry • Helping support public Forestry and Nature Reserves • Learning about Traditional Crafts
