PeerTalk Preston 18 – 30s Group
A new peer support group for young adults, 18 – 30s, facing depression, anxiety or similar distress organised by PeerTalk in collaboration with the University of Central Lancashire: every Tuesday during term time, 6.30 – 8pm
A friendly, confidential space where young adults can talk and feel supported.
Free parking is available after 6pm in the Harrington car park (no. 12 in the purple zone on this map of the campus: https://www.uclan.ac.uk/visit/assets/preston_city_campus_map.pdf )
What we do:At our support group meetings we talk, listen, and help each other through life's challenges. The group is facilitated by two trained facilitators, but they do not offer advice as the support is offered from those who come along. It's confidential within normal limits. For more information on how the group works see the FAQs at http://www.peertalk.org.uk/index.php/support-groups When someone comes along for the first time we offer this information leaflet: http://www.peertalk.org.uk/AttendingaPeerTalkSupport.pdf
Activities:Mutual support, listening and connecting with others. Sharing coping tips and strategies for facing the challenges that come with depression and anxiety. After the support group meeting, we stay behind for a cup of tea / coffee.
