Mourholme Local History Society

We are a society established in the 1970s of people interested in local history, we look at all aspects of local history.

We maintain a website which is regularly updated with articles, maps and images.

Our group meets on the last Wednesday of each month at 7.30 p.m.

Please visit our website to find out more about what we do.

What we do:

We publish a magazine twice a year with articles written by the membership. We have sponsored blue plaques in Carnforth and are engaged in sponsoring information boards at points of interest in our area. We maintain an archive (currently badly in need of expanded housing) which is constantly added to.

Activities:

• Guest speakers to talk on topics in areas of local history • Summer outings to see and learn about our man-made environment • We have engaged with professionals to undertake archaeological and geophysical exploration.
