Lancashire Fire Cadets (South Shore)
For young people aged between 13 and 18 years old.
We aim to provide young people with an insight into a uniformed service with basic fire fighting skills being learnt alongside personal and social skills. We strive to deliver a quality programme that combines key operational skills with invaluable knowledge of the Fire and Rescue Service. Each cadet will be supported to achieve a Level 2 Award in the Fire and Rescue Services in the Community.
What we do:
Joining our Cadet programme allows individuals to build their self-confidence and resilience whilst developing their leadership and teamwork ability. It’s also lots of fun and a great way to meet new friends whilst gaining a respected qualification that is recognised by the Fire and Rescue Service. Cadets will learn how to hose run, how to mount and dismount a ladder safely and correctly, learn about the Function and Responsibilities of the Fire and Rescue Service, engage in community projects and be part of a uniformed service. Cadet sessions run for 2 hours a week-1 hour is classroom based and 1 hour is spent on the drill ground. If you are 18+ and wish to volunteer at a cadet unit please visit https://lancsvp.org.uk/Activities:
