Gateway Trust Counselling
Gateway Trust Counselling is a charity run, affordable counselling service. We set up in 2018 to serve the people of Clitheroe and the Ribble Valley. Since the lockdown in March 2020 we have moved to online counselling and intend to continue to offer this in the future as well as in person counselling.
We have a small staff of volunteer, part-time counsellors, all qualified to a high standard, with a heart to offer their services to those who need them.
What we do:DURING THE PANDEMIC WE ARE CARRYING OUT ALL SESSIONS ONLINE. • We provide one to one counselling for a wide range of issues from trauma, abuse to anxiety and bereavement • You can self refer to our service since we are not NHS funded in any way • We offer approximately 18 sessions depending on the needs of the client, acknowledging that some deep wounds take longer than others to process • Clients are asked to donate what they can afford to our service in return for the help they receive.
Activities:Sessions last from 50 minutes to 1 hour and are weekly or fortnightly with an allocated counsellor. Since we are a small part time staff our hours are limited but include some mornings, afternoons and evenings each week.
