Civic Pride Rossendale (CPR)
For nearly 20 years Civic Pride Rossendale has been transforming Rawtenstall.
Rossendale is justly proud of its industrial heritage but with the loss of its manufacturing industries, the area declined and empty shops, litter strewn streets and neglected community gardens were the norm. Civic Pride Rossendale volunteers helped change all that.
We are currently locked down and following goverment guidelines we’re still here!
What we do:Find yourself in a garden... These are strange times we’re living in and with social distancing many of us are spending a lot more time in our own gardens than usual. With our Civic Pride Community Gardens temporarily on hold (and cared for by Mother Nature) it’s an opportunity to share the horticultural love and promote the sense of wellbeing that gardening generates for so many people. So, whatever the size of your plot, be it containers in a backyard or rolling orchards, whether you are an expert or novice you can contact us at Civic Pride with any of your gardening questions, and we promise to come up with an answer. Each week we will publish more tips, so keep in touch and we can all enjoy our Rossendale gardens!
Activities:In more normal times we re-generate and maintain community gardens . We keep our streets clear of litter, paint signs to reduce dog fouling and remove moss and leaves from hard surfaces! At the moment we're on lockdown to protect the NHS.
