Christians Against Poverty – CAP
We help anyone, faith or no faith, within the Chorley area, who is struggling with debt.
As well as being a friendly and personal service, CAP’s debt help is award winning and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority, so you can be sure you’re in safe hands. We are a locally based centre, so we operate supporting people in our own town – Chorley Churches seeking to help the people of Chorley.
What we do:When anyone from Chorley accesses the CAP debt help our local Debt Coach, Sue, visits them in their home environment. Sue will take new clients through the process of setting up a plan with CAP to manage a route out of debt. This is a free service and accessible to most people (CAP is unable to help those who are self employed, but CAP will signpost to an organisation equipped to deal with that situation). To access CAP's debt help in Chorley, please ring the freephone number 0800 328 0006 and somebody friendly will be ready to take your call and start you on your debt free journey.
Activities:We meet with clients who require debt help and support them on their journey to become debt free. There may be occasional social evenings for clients. We have a dedicated team of volunteers who help to support our clients on their journey.
