Carrom & Chat
A local group coming together to engage over a game of Carrom – A traditional Indian sport played sat around a small table for 2 or 4 players at any one time. This sport is well established amongst the BAME community and is well enjoyed by the older adults. Youngsters with a competitive edge are also welcome to put their skills to the test against some of the older more established players. Come along and engage in a safe, comfortable environment.
What we do:IMO work closely with the local community educating, upskilling and providing an environment where they feel safe and comfortable to open up and discuss issues that are not normally easy for the group participants to have, such as low mood or feeling worthless and helpless or generally not feeling great. Support for specific mental health difficulties is also provided and advice, guidance and signposting to relevant services is also available. IMO intend to bring a feel good factor for the group participants allowing them to mingle and feel happy talking to each other with support available for a persons health and wellbeing should they require it. Men - Creative support Blackburn - Thurs 3pm - 4pm Women - Audley Centre - 530pm - 630pm
Activities:The Carrom game is a traditional Indian game, played by 2-4 players. It does not require any prior knowledge however there is an element of skill involved which you pick up as you go.
