Blackburn Youth Darts Academy

Blackburn Youth Darts Academy is a non profit youth group ran by volunteers. It teaches children and young people to play darts and provides opportunities to progress within the sport to a professional standard to those showing talent.

The group is open to both boys and girls and takes place every Saturday afternoon. We often get visits by professional celebrity dart players who support the work we do. We currently have over 30 students who travel from all over the north to our sessions.

What we do:

We run coaching sessions weekly where children and young people can attend and complete practice routines followed usually by a competition or league matches. We offer lots of opportunities within the sport from progression through our grading system where all new students start on a white beginner shirt and can progress through the system to a black shirt. We compete with other academies around the world and provide opportunities to play in numerous competitions including world championships to those who want to take part and show progression. Darts also helps improve maths so we shall be visiting schools at some point too.

Activities:

• Youth darts practice and games • Youth dart competitions and leagues • Meet celebrity professional dart players • Attend televised dart events.
