Age of Opportunity – Places Impact – Preston

Age of Opportunity is a project designed specifically to help people over 50 years of age, who would like to work but are unable to without additional skills or support. It is part of the Building Better Opportunities programme, delivered in Lancashire by Places Impact, and funded by the National Lottery Community Fund and the European Social Fund. There is no charge to participants.

What we do:

Participants benefit from confidential, one to one support of a Key Worker. Starting with an initial assessment the Key Worker works through each participant’s own interests and the barriers they face around entering work or further learning. Together they develop a personal action plan, then the Key Worker guides and supports the participant to achieve milestones and overcome their different barriers. By developing skills and interests, the project helps participants to be more ready for education, training or work.

Activities:

Regular meetings covering: • Practical support • Confidence building • Career advice and guidance
